neighborhood songwriter showcase
every third friday @6pm
Since July 2023, we have hosted a monthly event at the Stones Throw Brewery where we feature three to four local songwriters. Each share their unique stories through music. Enjoy handcrafted tunes and a selection of local beer, wine, cider, and ginger ale. Whether you're a music enthusiast, a lover of lyrics, or simply looking for a great night out, come support a rotating roster of local artists and non-profits. Cheers to the magic of music and the connections it fosters!
The third Friday of every month at 6 pm! Free! Family and dog friendly!
Chad didn’t start writing songs because he wanted to be a musician. He started because he burned out. Years of corporate pressure, constant availability, and the slow erosion of his inner life left him feeling hollow and voiceless. Songwriting became the only place he could tell the truth — about himself, about the people he loved, and about the quiet suffering he saw everywhere around him.
After stepping away from music for more than a decade, CJ reconnected with songwriting during a recent transformative trip to Ireland. Her songs pay homage to the spirit of that place and bridge the personal and collective through a heartfelt, folky, Americana sound.
Kaeley shares songs and stories under the name “KPH & The Canary Collective” because, whether strumming banjo solo or playing with an orchestra and full band, she sings as and for the sensitive canaries in the coal mine for whom the mainstream systems are not working. Let’s help heal the harm of humans on this planet with harmony!
David is a Bellingham based guitarist who studied classical guitar at WWU and play in a band called Trip Hazard.
As a part of our dedication to the community that sustains us, we donate half of the proceeds from each event to various local non-profits on a rotating basis. Your attendance not only empowers these gifted artists but also supports important causes, infusing every note and chord with a deeper sense of purpose. Through shared commitment, we can create a meaningful impact and foster unity within our community.
This month all the tips will go directly to the Puget Sound Guitar Workshop's scholarship fund. PSGW is a renowned acoustic music camp in the PNW that welcomes all instruments and genres. Despite the name, the camp's collaborative atomosphere brings together mucisians playing everything from accordians to cellos, and bluegrass to jazz.
