neighborhood songwriter showcase

every third friday @6pm

Stones Throw Brewery, Bellingham WA

Once a month, we host an event at the Stones Throw Brewery where we feature three to four local songwriters, each sharing their unique stories through music. Enjoy handcrafted tunes and a selection of local beer, wine, cider, and ginger ale. Whether you're a music enthusiast, a lover of lyrics, or simply looking for a great night out, come support a rotating roster of local artists and non-profits. Cheers to the magic of music and the connections it fosters!

The third Friday of every month at 6 pm! Free! Family and dog friendly!

March Artists

Kian Dye and Katie May first sang together in their high school choir. A lifelong bluegrass musician, Kian adds rich instrumentation, while Katie, a poet and writer, crafts haunting lyrics. Their harmonies echo classic Americana duos.

Most of Ren's songs are channeled from an imaginative dreamworld called the Petrichor Forest. A place for magic, slowness, and connection. They hope to convey through song, what the Forest knows.

Keenan Foster is a songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and fronts Salt Pine. He cut his teeth playing in the Salt Lake punk scene in the 2000s, and has since discovered a love for country, folk, bluegrass, and American roots music that is reflected in his songwriting.

Char & Tim

From Steinbeck country to the Colorado foothills, Washington, and the Southwest, songwriter Char Seawell tells the stories of everyday people facing life’s challenges with courage and grace. As part of the duo Windfall with Tim Seawell, their rich imagery, harmonies, and storytelling echo the folk traditions of the ’60s and ’70s.

Commitment to community

As a part of our dedication to the community that sustains us, we donate half of the proceeds from each event to various local non-profits on a rotating basis. Your attendance not only empowers these gifted artists but also supports important causes, infusing every note and chord with a deeper sense of purpose. Through shared commitment, we can create a meaningful impact and foster unity within our community.

This month's non-profit

Ragfinery's mission is to grow a culture of creative textile reuse through education, entrepreneurial opportunities, and job training. Ragfinery opened in April 2014 as the second “jobs from waste” project of ReUse Works. This is the DBA that we use and how we are best known in the community. We provide job training for clients of our partner social service agencies and schools. We collaborate with local artisans and community volunteers to repurpose unwanted garments and textiles into various upcycled goods.
