neighborhood songwriter showcase

every third friday @6pm

Stones Throw Brewery, Bellingham WA

Once a month, we host an event at the Stones Throw Brewery where we feature three to four local songwriters, each sharing their unique stories through music. Enjoy handcrafted tunes and a selection of local beer, wine, cider, and ginger ale. Whether you're a music enthusiast, a lover of lyrics, or simply looking for a great night out, come support a rotating roster of local artists and non-profits. Cheers to the magic of music and the connections it fosters!

The third Friday of every month at 6 pm! Free! Family and dog friendly!

November Artists

Philip Hofmann is a retired public school teacher who has been writing songs for over 30 years. The songs are loaded with wordplay, jokes, and Easter eggs that explore the joys, sorrows, and absurdities of living in pre-apocalyptic America.

A former ski patrolman, EMT, volunteer fireman, and union organizer, Rick Aydelotte is dedicated to community service and writes songs about the issues that are close to his heart.

Sasha Petrenko is a visual and performance artist who makes art-rock-music from tree ring data to tell the continuing saga of a time-traveling rebel paleo dendrologist.

Elise Dahlberg and Brian Hassler, aka, The Love Grubs, are a loving musical duo with a unique synergy and an eclectic collection of originally composed material. Using keyboard, guitar, and vocal harmonies, they sing/play contemporary folk/rock/pop written from the heart.

Commitment to community

As a part of our dedication to the community that sustains us, we donate half of the proceeds from each event to various local non-profits on a rotating basis. Your attendance not only empowers these gifted artists but also supports important causes, infusing every note and chord with a deeper sense of purpose. Through shared commitment, we can create a meaningful impact and foster unity within our community.

This month's non-profit

Lydia Place is a Whatcom County non-profit providing services that disrupt the cycle of homelessness, empower families and individuals in our community, and promote sustained independence for current and future generations. They currently serve over 250 households, which includes over 420 children.
